YC-Backed DryMerge Lets You Build Event-Driven Workflows In Plain English

Y Combinator-backed startup DryMerge has launched its platform that uses AI to write event-driven workflows for developers, businesses, and their customers.

Edward Frazer and Samuel Brashears co-founded the startup to address the problems they faced as engineers and founders.

In addition to engineering challenges, the pair found that many repetitive operational processes required coordination between SaaS tools and internal infrastructure.

This inspired them to build DryMerge to make building solutions for these things as easy as explaining the problem.

As easy as a conversation with a co-worker

DryMerge uses AI to create event-driven workflows.

It organizes and sets up automated tasks that can react to events in real-time or on a schedule – such as generating a report in response to an email or Slack message.

What stands out is DryMerge’s use of large language models (LLMs), allowing the user to work in plain English.

“Our thesis is that config was tough because it was hard to learn and write, but that LLMs make using it as easy as a conversation with a coworker,” the pair stated.

Instead of relying on cumbersome drag-and-drop interfaces or time-consuming software development kits, DryMerge lets can concentrate on the big picture while it handles the code.

Solving key pain points

In addition to automating routine and repetitive tasks, DryMerge lets you easily connect your existing code, written in any programming language, directly into its workflows.

It allows companies to sync client data from external sources into native internal data sources.

The startup offers white-glove onboarding to add value and automate workflows, with 10 million monthly runs included with their base plan and one free month.

“If you’re dealing with problems like syncing data from customer tools to your internal sources or even something more general like repetitive operational processes, Sam and I would love to talk,” Frazer wrote on LinkedIn.
