- Over 8 million affected by Cash App data breach
- $600 Million Stolen in Ether
- NVidia, T-Mobile, Microsoft and other corporation’s data stolen by Lapsus$
- 5.4 million Twitter accounts compromised in data breach
I been hearing about hackers having a good time all year long, so I decided to list four data breaches that amazed me the most.
Cash App Data Breach
When a company has good data loss prevention policies in place, employees gain access on a need-to-know basis. Cash App failed to do this and as a result, over 8 million customers names, account numbers and more were stolen.
Ronin Network takes a $600 million loss in crypto
This is one of the biggest crypto hacks ever executed. Ronin halted their transactions temporarily to prevent any more exploitations, and the money is sitting in the hackers wallet like a duck.
Lapsus$ Gangbangs Top Tech Companies
Lapsus$ exfiltrated data from T-Mobile, NVidia, Okta, Samsung, and many more companies.
What stood out to me most is that they used social engineering to gain employee level tools for use in their data acquisition.
5.4 million Twitter login credentials for 30k USD
A few days ago that a hacker claimed the data of 5.4 million Twitter users. Some report that passwords were stolen, however Twitter announced that no passwords claimed in the data breach and that they have patched the bug that was used in the attack.
