A year-long vetting process
Valdez Wolfe’s appointment followed an exhaustive year-long vetting process.
The SHPE Board of Directors enlisted Wipfli, a leading consulting firm, to oversee the CEO selection from beginning to end. Valdez Wolfe emerged as the clear choice as the process progressed.
“She understands our mission, our legacy, and the direction SHPE is moving in,” said Board Chair Will Davis.
“She demonstrated her innate ability to bring people together while fostering a commitment to a common goal… And she is, at the end of the day, a strategic thinker and a collaborative problem solver driven by data traits any engineer or scientist can respect.”
Valdez Wolfe succeeds Miguel Alemañy, a Lifetime member and former Board Chair, who served as SHPE’s Interim CEO since March 2023.
