Ingredients (What You Need)
For the Red Velvet Cake:
- 1 box Duncan Hines Perfectly Moist Red Velvet Cake Mix
- 1 (3.4 oz) box Instant Chocolate Fudge Pudding Mix
- 1 cup melted butter (room temp)
- 4 eggs (room temp)
- 1/2 cup buttermilk (room temp)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (room temp)
- 1/4 cup cold plain coffee
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
For the Strawberry Cake:
- 1 box Duncan Hines Perfectly Moist Strawberry Supreme Cake Mix
- 1 (3 oz) box Instant Strawberry Pudding Mix
- 1 cup melted butter (room temp)
- 4 eggs (room temp)
- 1 cup buttermilk (room temp)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (room temp)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon or lime zest
For the Strawberry Icing:
- 4 sticks unsalted butter (1 lb)
- 2.5 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- 1 (1 oz) pkg freeze-dried strawberries
For the Strawberry Crunch (Crumble):
- Vanilla Oreos
- Freeze-dried strawberries
- Melted butter
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Preheat and Prep
Preheat your oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a Bundt pan generously. Set aside.

2. Mix the Red Velvet Batter
In a large bowl, mix all the red velvet cake ingredients: cake mix, pudding, melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, sour cream, coffee, and vanilla. Whisk until smooth.

3. Mix the Strawberry Batter
In another bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, pudding, melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, sour cream, vanilla, and zest. Mix until evenly combined.

4. Layer the Batters
Pour the red velvet batter into the greased Bundt pan first, then carefully spoon the strawberry batter on top. Gently tap the pan to release air bubbles.

5. Bake the Cake
Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before flipping onto a wire rack to cool completely.

6. Make the Strawberry Icing
Using a mixer, beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar in batches, followed by cream and crushed freeze-dried strawberries. Beat until light and fluffy.
7. Make the Strawberry Crunch
In a food processor, blend vanilla Oreos and freeze-dried strawberries. Drizzle in melted butter until the texture resembles wet sand.

8. Decorate
Frost the completely cooled cake with strawberry icing. Press the strawberry crunch mixture around the sides and top. Add fresh strawberries for garnish if desired.
