Robin AI Raises Another $25M—Cambridge University, PayPal Back Legal AI Leader

Published:

Legal AI innovator Robin AI has raised an additional $25 million in a unique extension of its Series B funding round.

This fresh infusion of capital reflects growing confidence in Robin’s AI-driven solutions, with customers like Cambridge University joining existing backers to support the company.

Customers Turned Investors: A Vote of Confidence

Robin AI, which serves 13 Fortune 500 companies, has carved out a leading position in the enterprise market. Its high-profile clients include UBS, Pfizer, and PepsiCo, underscoring the versatility of its AI-powered legal tools.

Notably, some of its own customers—billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s family office Willets, and the University of Cambridge—participated in this funding round. They were joined by fintech-focused PayPal Ventures and AFG Partners.

“It’s a great sign when premium customers trust your product enough to invest,” Robin AI’s CEO, Richard Robinson, said in a press release.

While the company did not disclose its updated valuation, Robin AI told Fortune it is earning $10 million in annual recurring revenue.

Bridging AI And Human Expertise

Founded in 2019 by former Clifford Chance lawyer Richard Robinson and machine learning researcher James Clough, Robin AI offers a hybrid approach that blends human expertise with AI.

With an 80-member legal team working alongside its advanced AI models, Robin AI provides tailored solutions for complex, business-critical use cases.

Its first-of-its-kind product, Robin Reports, stands out for its ability to summarize thousands of legal documents simultaneously and recommend actionable steps. This makes it invaluable for tasks like M&A due diligence and responding to data breaches.

Positioned For Growth

This latest funding follows Robin AI’s $26 million Series B raise earlier in 2024 and a $10.5 million round in 2023.

With offices in New York, London, and Singapore, the company has expanded its US operations sixfold this year, solidifying its leadership in the legal tech space.

Looking ahead, Robin AI is poised to address the slow adoption of AI by traditional law firms, offering efficient, business-first solutions that streamline legal processes and drive value for enterprise clients.
