Recently, REVOLT, a prominent Black-owned multimedia company, announced the launch of Black Shift.
Developed by its creative agency, Six Zeros, Black Shift is an AI-powered research platform designed to help brands better understand and engage with Gen Z, particularly within the Black community.
This initiative dives into the aspirations, values, and behaviors shaping one of the most culturally influential generations.
A Data-Driven Approach to Understanding Gen Z
Black Shift combines over 500 hours of interviews with insights from 700 Gen Z participants across the US.
Using personalized AI tools, the platform explores themes like community, identity, and financial independence, offering a nuanced perspective on the lived experiences of Black Gen Z.
“Black Shift isn’t just about gathering data; it’s about equipping brands with meaningful insights to foster authentic connections with Gen Z,” said Detavio Samuels, CEO of REVOLT in a press release.
Key Findings: Legacy, Community, and Financial Independence
Initial findings from Black Shift reveal several key trends among Black Gen Z participants:
- Community & Legacy: Nearly half prioritize building family legacy over personal ambition, with many leading social justice movements.
- Financial Empowerment: Entrepreneurship is seen as pivotal to breaking systemic barriers, with Black Gen Z showing an 89% greater focus on financial independence compared to peers.
“This isn’t just a static study. It’s a dynamic platform reflecting the ever-changing priorities of Gen Z, providing insights that evolve with them,” Lynzie Riebling, VP of Insights & Strategy at REVOLT explained.
