OnlyFans CEO Ami Gan Steps Down From Her Role

Published:

OnlyFans CEO Amrapali “Ami” Gan took to Twitter to announce she is leaving OnlyFans and launching a new venture.

Who is Ami Gan?

Mumbai-born marketing expert Ami Gan spent 18 months as the CEO of OnlyFans, an online adult platform where people can pay for content (photos, videos, live streams) through a monthly subscription.

During her time there, the platform reached the landmark milestone of paying $10 billion in creator earnings.

During Gan’s tenure as CEO, from December 2021 to June 2023, the company saw its global user base increase to more than 220 million fans and over 3 million creators and reach the milestone of $10 billion paid to creators.

Gan had assumed the role after the resignation of OnlyFans founder Tim Stokely.

Before becoming CEO, she was the adult site’s chief marketing officer (CMO) during its exponential growth period and launch of Only Fans TV (OFTV).

“Spending nearly three years at OnlyFans, while it echoed throughout the cultural zeitgeist, has been beyond rewarding,” Gan wrote in a Twitter thread.

Becoming CEO

Changing credit card company policies and global legislation made it harder for online sex workers to make a living, TechCrunch reported.  OnlyFans is no exception.

When asked at TechCrunch Disrupt whether or not adult creators can expect to still be on OnlyFans in five years, Gan said yes.

Future Ventures

Gan revealed on Twitter that her new venture is Hoxton Projects which will reimagine the agency paradigm to support founders and growing businesses on how to communicate best and market their purpose and competitive advantage.

“I’m looking forward to this new chapter and sharing my experience with other entrepreneurs and companies,” she wrote.

Keily Blair, the new CEO, joined OnlyFans after a career in data privacy law which will be helpful to a company that requires users to feel confident that their data is safe.
