Nigeria’s Answer To OnlyFans Has Helped Thousands Monetize Adult Content

Published:

AllAccessFans, an adult subscription platform, is helping African creators be paid for their content. In just one year, the platform has generated ₦1.26 billion ($818,700) in revenue, onboarded 12,504 users, and supported 13,140 creators, according to TechCabal.

With the rise of apps like OnlyFans, creators worldwide want to monetise their content, but it’s not that simple for Africans. One creator, *Lola, who chose to stay anonymous, told Techpoint that she had to use the personal details of a relative living in the United States to create an account and receive her earnings.

However, when Lola started using AllAccessFans, her earnings skyrocketed. She started making ₦25,000 ($16) weekly. She made up to ₦1 million in some weeks ($640), and last year, she earned ₦30 million ($1,949), according to documents viewed by Techpoint Africa.

Recently, Nigerian parliament passed a resolution banning pornographic websites in the country, so it yet to be seen how this will affect AllAccessFans.

Helping African women earn more.

Ifeoluwa Omai, Co-founder and Chief Communications Officer at AllAccessFans and CEO Oladapo Giwa met five years ago, where a conversation turned into an idea. Giwa saw how African creators were being exploited by middlemen and wanted to create a solution for this.

Though the app supports creators with different pillars, it heavily focuses on adult content. Omai was particularly keen to help female adult content creators earn more while being safe.

“I needed to get these women out of the chokehold that the middlemen had. There’s literally a whole industry in Nigeria at the moment. People are making millions off signing up African content creators on places like OnlyFans,” Omai told Techpoint.

AllAcessFans growth in its first year

TechCabal reported that in its first year, creators were paid ₦1.26 billion ($818,700), a significant figure for the creator economy in Africa.

The company currently operates on a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and an upgraded version of the platform is set to launch by the end of Q1 2025. It will feature innovations created to improve the creator and subscriber experience. This will include a live feature, allowing creators to connect with their fans.

“It’s truly remarkable that we’ve been able to accomplish so much with a version of All Access Fans that’s still in its MVP stage,” Ife Omai, Chief Communications Officer, said. “This speaks volumes about the potential of our platform and the creators we support. With a more robust version launching soon, we’re taking things to the next level. Our upcoming live feature will open up incredible opportunities for creators to engage with their audiences in exciting ways.”

The platform is available in several countries including Nigeria and Ghana.
