Meet The 10 Startups Joining Google For Startups Accelerator Africa 2024

Google for Startups Accelerator Africa has revealed its 8th cohort, featuring ten startups from Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa. 

These ventures are using AI to address significant issues in healthcare, cargo mobility, energy solutions, and beyond.

Pioneering Innovation Across Africa

Africa’s tech ecosystem is described as a hub of creativity and problem-solving, driven by startups tackling both local and global challenges with exceptional ingenuity. 

Since its launch in 2018, the Google for Startups Accelerator Africa program has been important in supporting the continent’s startup landscape.

The program has now introduced the 8th cohort, selected from nearly 1,000 applications. 

These startups from Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Africa are driven by a similar mission to leverage AI in solving pressing challenges.

Meet the 8th Cohort:

CDIAL AI (Nigeria): Revolutionizing multilingual communication across Africa with the power of artificial and collective intelligence.

Earthbond (Nigeria): Providing affordable and reliable energy solutions, enhanced by carbon accounting and development finance.

Fixxr (South Africa): Offering transparent and convenient on-location vehicle maintenance and repair services.

Lifesten Health (Rwanda): Advancing health and wellness through innovative screening and incentive-based programs focused on physical, mental, and nutritional health.

MyAIFactchecker (Nigeria): Tackling misinformation with an AI-powered tool for fact-checking and informed decision-making.

Nakili (Kenya): Bringing salons, barbershops, and spas into the digital age with a mobile app for streamlined management and improved customer experiences.

NextCounsel (Nigeria): Boosting lawyer productivity with an AI-powered tool for contract management, solicitor engagement, and compliance.

Nobuk Africa (Kenya): Simplifying financial management for groups with a platform for collecting funds, reconciling payments, and generating reports.

Rana Energy (Nigeria): Delivering clean, reliable energy solutions to SMEs and communities through a data-driven ecosystem.

Triply (Kenya): Developing Africa’s travel operating system, connecting travelers with seamless booking experiences and travel businesses with management tools.

From July 29th to September 20th, 2024, these startups will embark on an accelerated growth journey. 

The program provides mentorship with direct access to Google mentors and experienced entrepreneurs, technical workshops and opportunities to refine products, home business strategies, and strengthen leadership skills.

There is also funding access and preparation for securing follow-on funding from Google’s global network of investors.
