Topped with a silky glaze and optionally enhanced with whipped cream cheese, it’s the shortcut treat that doesn’t skip on flavor.

Ingredients

Rolls

  • 12-count Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Glaze

  • 2 tbsp whipped cream cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or milk (add more as needed for consistency)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Slice

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Without separating the rolls, slice them horizontally in half to create a top and bottom layer.

Step 2: Make Cinnamon Butter

  • In a bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until smooth.

Step 3: Assemble

  • Spread half of the cinnamon mixture on the bottom layer of the rolls.
  • Add the top layer of rolls back on.
  • Spread the remaining cinnamon mixture evenly over the top.

Step 4: Bake

  • Bake for 10 minutes, until the topping is bubbling and the rolls are warm through.

Step 5: Make the Glaze

  • In a bowl, whisk together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and cream until smooth.
  • Adjust thickness by adding more cream or milk as needed.

Step 6: Cool & Glaze

  • Allow cinnamon rolls to cool slightly before drizzling with glaze.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Pro Tips and Serving Suggestions

  • Best enjoyed warm out of the oven.
  • Add chopped pecans or a drizzle of caramel for extra decadence.
  • Great for brunch spreads, potlucks, or holiday mornings.
