Career Karma, best known for helping people transition into tech careers, has launched OutRival, a new AI platform designed to transform customer experience across industries.
OutRival empowers customer experience teams to build AI-driven conversational agents without using a single line of code.
Building on Career Karma’s Success
Career Karma’s journey began in 2018 with a focus on workforce development and educational tools. After announcing its Series B funding in 2022, CEO Ruben Harris and his team saw an even bigger opportunity in AI technology.
“When Career Karma announced our Series B in 2022, we said we are expanding to higher education and the enterprise,” Harris told POCIT.
“What we quickly discovered is that colleges were facing a different problem and would benefit more from the conversational AI technology we created for our Admissions team, rather than just receiving qualified applicants.”
OutRival, born from this realization, is designed to help customer-centric teams in industries such as HR, education, and real estate, deliver personalized, scalable experiences through AI.
Making AI Accessible to Non-Technical Teams
OutRival makes AI accessible to everyone, not just engineers. Its no-code platform allows customer experience teams to create conversational agents without technical expertise.
“Our goal is to make AI accessible so that companies can personalize customer experiences at scale, improve productivity, and drive revenue,” said Harris. “With OutRival, companies can improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase revenue by empowering their teams to create solutions in natural language.”
The platform is model-agnostic and integrates seamlessly with existing systems, meaning businesses can leverage the latest AI advances without overhauling their tech infrastructure.
Using a human-centric approach, OutRival’s conversational AI agents are designed to reflect brands’ voice and values, augmenting the work of human customer experience teams.
Shaping The Future of Customer Experience
OutRival AI has already worked with over 300 Chief Human Resource Officers (CHROs) through partnerships like PeopleTech partners, enabling HR vendors to develop AI agents for employee onboarding, benefits navigation, job search guidance, and more.
Investors in OutRival AI include venture capital firms in Silicon Valley including Y Combinator, Top Tier Capital Partners, Initialized Capital, Kapor Capital, Emerson Collective, GV, Jack Altman, and others.
“OutRival would have been impossible to create without AI technology and could only have been born now,” Harris remarked.
“The immediate analogy I think of is Netflix and Streaming. As founders, we have been talking about AI since day one at YC Demo Day (W19). Now that the world is pouring into AI and automation, our time to shine has come.”
