Colorintech Launches $1M AI Program For Underrepresented Communities

Published:

Colorintech has launched an initiative, “AI for Everyone,” backed by over $1 million in funding from the Juniper Networks Foundation

This program is set to provide accessible AI training and career opportunities for underrepresented communities across the UK.

According to a press release shared with POCIT, the goal is to reach 30,000 individuals through awareness campaigns and train 5,000 people in AI skills by 2027.

Training And Awareness To Close The AI Skills Gap

Building on its eight-year history of promoting diversity in tech, Colorintech will develop a free AI course in partnership with industry giants like ServiceNow, Google, Meta, and ARM.

This course will be paired with a certification designed to increase employability in AI careers.

Alongside the training, nationwide awareness efforts will include workshops, online sessions, and “Lunch & Learn” events aimed at demystifying AI.

According to Colorintech’s co-founder, Dion McKenzie, this initiative addresses a critical moment for the UK as it strives to become a leader in AI adoption.

“We need to ensure all communities have access to the opportunities AI brings,” McKenzie said.

Expanding On A Strong Foundation

The program builds on previous support from organizations like the Centre for Public Impact and Google.org AI Opportunity Fund.

Earlier efforts enabled AI training for over 300 participants in cities like London, Birmingham, and Manchester.

This new initiative scales those efforts, introducing a grant fund for AI entrepreneurs and establishing an advisory board to develop inclusive AI workforce policies.

With a proven track record of empowering underrepresented founders and building an engaged community of 60,000+ members, Colorintech is set to make AI accessible to everyone.
