Coke Florida Invests Over $1 Million in Education and Economic Opportunity During Black History Month

Published:

Coke Florida is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Black History Month by making a long-lasting commitment to invest in Black communities across the state. The brand will celebrate the contributions of Black Americans by investing in initiatives that support Black communities, according to a press release.

Coke Florida’s donation

Coke Florida will donate 300 new laptops, making its total contribution to nearly 2,100 devices distributed to schools, nonprofits, and community organizations in Florida. In 2018, the brand invested more than $1 million to support programs that increase digital access for Floridians.

The donation will allow Black students to benefit students and adults in Florida by promoting remote learning and working.

Closing the digital divide in Florida

Coke Florida has been committed to closing the digital divide. The company has refreshed 24 computer labs, including six that will be dedicated this year. These labs will help create education, work, and economic opportunities.

“At Coke Florida, Black History Month is not just about reflection—it’s about continued actions to pay it forward,” said Percy L. Wells II, Group Vice President, Government Relations, Public Affairs, and Communications. “By maintaining our focus on technology, education, and access to resources year after year, we’re helping people gain the tools they need to reach their full potential and strengthening the communities we proudly serve.”
