ThriveDX, a global leader in cybersecurity education, and BlackGirlsHack, an international cybersecurity training nonprofit increasing diverse representation in cybersecurity, have launched the BlackGirlsHack Scholars Program.
The Scholars Program will enable a cohort of 25 individuals associated with BlackGirlsHack to receive the support and benefits needed to complete the program successfully and secure new cybersecurity employment.
Helping Black Women and Girls Thrive In Cyber
The BlackGirlsHack Foundation was founded by Tennisha Martin, a Black woman from Washington, D.C., who has worked in the IT and Cyber Space for over 15 years.
The nonprofit aims to increase representation and empower Black girls and women in information security and cyber security through skills training, mentoring, resume review, and access to low-cost resources in an inclusive environment.
Their vision? A diverse and inclusive cyber industry where Black women are represented in all levels of cybersecurity, including technical, leadership, and executive roles.
The Collaboration
ThriveDX partners with academic institutions, enterprises, and government branches globally to offer advanced cybersecurity and security awareness training programs.
Through their partnership with BlackGirlsHack, they will create new opportunities in cybersecurity and tech for those typically underrepresented in these fields.
As part of the Scholars Program, learners will receive a certificate of completion from ThriveDX. They will also haveThriveDX Career Coaching support in collaboration with OneTen.
“Equity in access to cyber training is something we work towards daily, and I couldn’t be more excited about our latest partnership that will help us get one step closer to that,” stated Desiree Young, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships and Strategic Innovation, ThriveDX.
“The best part, in my opinion, is that after the learners have completed the training, they will have the opportunity for job placement in cyber roles through the partnership with OneTen,” said Tanisha Martin, Executive Director at BlackGirlsHack.
The program enrollment began in early July, and the cohort started on July 24.
