Black Girl Vitamins Unveils $100K Scholarship Fund For Black Women In Medicine

Published:

Black Girl Vitamins (BGV) has announced a $100,000 scholarship fund dedicated to Black women pursuing medical careers at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

This two-year initiative, part of their broader mission to support health equity, aims to increase representation in healthcare by easing the financial burden for aspiring medical professionals.

Investing in Future Healthcare Leaders

BGV’s scholarship program aligns with their mission to create a new generation of Black women in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and public health.

The scholarship is open to Black women enrolled in accredited medical programs at HBCUs.

To qualify, students must show financial need, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and submit a 300-word essay outlining their healthcare aspirations and commitment to serving underrepresented communities.

“We know better care happens when providers and patients share similar life experiences,” said Anna Palomino, BGV’s Head of Marketing, according to SwagHer Magazine.

BGV’s Commitment to Health Equity

Founded in 2021, BGV is a wellness-focused company on a mission to address the nutritional needs of Black and minority communities.

Beyond the scholarship, BGV has partnered with Howard University’s Women’s Basketball team and donated $100,000 worth of vitamins in 2024.

These efforts, combined with their expertly formulated vitamin products, show BGV’s effort to improve health outcomes for Black women.
