Black Fraternity Members Create App To Keep Greek Life Alive

Published:

A trio of Black fraternity members have teamed up to create Greektory, an app to help members of Greek organizations connect, interact, and collaborate.

Building relationships through Greektory

Greektory founders Ronard Green, Matthew Plunkett, and Bruson Ovil, all members of prominent Black fraternities, wanted to bridge communication gaps within and between chapters.

Their digital app is aimed at networking, event planning, and community engagement. For example, the networking feature enables users to filter members based on information gathered during onboarding, such as industry, location, and year they joined the organization.

Users can also use admin features that allow individuals to manage their chapter’s members with permission and account management, create group chats and channels with automatic membership filters and admin settings, and network amongst members based on interests and location.

“Greektory was designed to fill the many communicational voids amongst organizations while continuing to focus on the social aspects of the communities they serve,” said Ronard  Green in a Watch The Yard article.

“Its user-friendly features provide a platform for Greeks to network within their chapter and organization(s) while capitalizing on the relationships to come.”

Keeping Greek Life Alive

The app has a user-friendly interface and a comprehensive database with milestones, traditions, and achievements.

In one testimonial, Greektory user Matt Staples said, “I travel frequently for work, and since my chapter has adopted Greektory, I can easily connect with chapter members located in different cities I visit.”

For the three founders, the app symbolizes a commitment to empowering fraternity and sorority members, promoting unity, and redefining the landscape of Greek life through technological innovation.
