The BITE-CON Foundation is committed to bridging the technological divide for Black and Brown communities.

They engage and inspire through technology through their Annual Web3 Technology Conference, nationwide pop-up events, and community-based STEAM and sports activities.

They aim to impact a pipeline of one million BIPOC and women technologists over the next five years through strategic partnerships, workforce development and thought leadership.

4Geeks Academy was founded in 2015 as a leading online coding bootcamp specializing in code.

They have several programs and methodologies to train software developers in just a few months while helping boost them professionally.

Their mission is to contribute to reducing the unemployment rate, provide accessibility to tech and increase the amount of digital talent available while growing a strong, global community of software developers.

The Collaboration

The collaboration between the two is centred around nurturing diverse tech talent through joint efforts, including monthly educational workshops and impactful scholarships.

“The partnership has tremendous potential,” said BITE-CON founder and executive director Temante Leary.

“We are working on several initiatives in addition to providing scholarship opportunities for those who want to break into tech by way of bootcamp.”

Three scholarships will be awarded to tech enthusiasts: the TechBoost Scholarship, the HBCU Scholarship, and the Miami Tech Talent Coalition Scholarship.

The scholarships will help provide recipients with the financial support to enrol in 4Geeks Academy’s full-stack development, data science and machine learning programs.

Over the coming months, the partnership will offer a certificate program in conjunction with Microsoft, allowing participants to earn AI certifications in a month.
