Lobster Bisque Seafood Pizza with Shrimp & Snow Crab 🦞 – Black Foodie Finder

Published:

Seafood Pizza with a Rich Lobster Bisque Base

This Lobster Bisque Seafood Pizza by Ashley Breann swaps traditional pizza sauce for something extra special: creamy lobster bisque. The rich seafood base is topped with mozzarella, Parmesan, Cajun-seasoned Argentinian shrimp, fresh snow crab, and sliced shallots for a pizza that feels like seafood night and pizza night rolled into one.

The shrimp gets a quick cook in garlicky butter before hitting the pizza, and that flavorful butter doesn’t go to waste. Once the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling, the reserved garlic butter gets brushed over the crust and drizzled across the top. Fresh basil, Parmesan, and red pepper flakes bring everything together for the finishing touch.

Note: The creator provides exact amounts for the butter and garlic but does not specify quantities for the remaining ingredients or an exact baking time. Use enough toppings to cover your pizza without overloading the dough.

Ingredients

For the Seafood

  • Wild-caught Argentinian shrimp
  • Fresh snow crab
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

For the Garlic Butter

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 5–6 garlic cloves, minced

For the Pizza

  • Pizza dough
  • Trader Joe’s lobster bisque
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Shallot, sliced

For Finishing

  • Reserved garlic butter
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Reduce the Lobster Bisque

  • Cook the lobster bisque over medium heat for 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly reduced.
  • Set aside and allow it to cool completely.

2. Prepare the Shrimp

  • Melt 1/2 stick of butter with the minced garlic.
  • Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper, then cook in the garlic butter for no longer than 3 minutes.
  • Remove the shrimp and reserve the garlic butter.

3. Build the Pizza

  • Stretch the pizza dough to your desired shape.
  • Spread the cooled lobster bisque over the dough and top with mozzarella, Parmesan, shrimp, snow crab, and sliced shallot.

4. Bake Until Golden

  • For a conventional oven, preheat as high as possible, ideally 500–550°F.
  • Bake until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

5. Add the Garlic Butter

  • As soon as the pizza comes out, brush the crust with some of the reserved garlic butter and drizzle a little over the seafood toppings.

6. Finish & Serve

  • Top with additional Parmesan, red pepper flakes, and fresh basil.
  • Slice and serve while the cheese is still hot and bubbly.

Pro Tips & Suggestions

  • Let the reduced lobster bisque cool before spreading it over the dough.
  • Cook the shrimp for no more than 3 minutes before baking.
  • Avoid overloading the pizza so the crust can cook properly.
  • Save the garlic butter for brushing the hot crust after baking.
