This Duo’s Innovative Family Subscription Service Celebrates Black Culture

Published:

Los Angeles-based moms Dr. Anndretta Lyle and Stacy Kirk, both leaders in education and technology, have joined forces to create Thrive Culture Box, an innovative subscription service for families with children aged four and up.

Designed to celebrate and explore Black culture, the service provides monthly activity kits that combine hands-on learning with interactive digital lessons.

Each box features engaging tools and materials, along with instructional videos that guide families in discovering Black history, achievements, and creativity.

The Thrive Culture Box

The debut series of Thrive Culture Box spotlights Black inventors who have shaped history.

“This one is so thrilling — it’s all about Black inventors who shaped history,” said co-creator Stacy Kirk, according to press release.

“Each month, kids dive into a fun and interactive online course with physical tools and games that highlight groundbreaking Black inventors, from the genius behind the modern traffic light to pioneers in medicine and technology. Did you know a Black inventor perfected the recipe for ice cream?”

Dr. Anndretta, an educator with years of experience teaching Black Studies, emphasized the impact of this project.

“We are not only teaching history — we are working with families to spark innovation and confidence in the next generation,” she shared. “With Thrive Culture Box, kids use their hands and exercise creativity with physical materials as well.”

Building a Scalable Solution for Black Families Everywhere

Thrive Culture Box was born from Dr. Anndretta’s desire to create a scalable way to provide children with cultural education.

Her first initiative, Black Arts and Performance Summer Day Camp, launched in 2019, has consistently sold out, drawing families from across the country.

Meanwhile, Stacy Kirk brought her expertise as a tech entrepreneur to make this vision accessible nationwide.

“It’s not just about having a great idea — it’s about making it accessible to as many people as possible,” Kirk explained.

“Thrive Culture Box ensures any family, regardless of location, can teach their kids about Black history and culture.”
