Latino Business Action Network’s New Accelerator Boosts Latinx Tech Entrepreneurs

Latino Business Action Network recently launched a Startup Accelerator program to empower Latinx tech entrepreneurs through mentorship, networking and educational resources.

Latinos are the most prolific creators of new companies in the U.S., with over 5 million Latino-owned businesses currently operating, according to a recent Latino Business Action Network (LBAN) report. 

Despite this impressive number, Latino entrepreneurs face significant barriers to accessing venture capital.

Aimed At Tech Entrepreneurs

The accelerator program, supported by JPMorgan Chase, will focus on 40 Latino majority-owned, venture-backed tech companies specializing in fields such as AI, Agtech, health tech, fintech, and biotech. 

The nine-week curriculum is designed to provide these companies with essential tools, including mentorship, capital matchmaking, and targeted courses.

“Founders face many complex challenges on the journey from idea to startup to exit,” said John China, Co-Head of Innovation Economy at JPMorgan Chase Commerical Banking.

“By supporting this initiative of LBAN and Stanford, we aim to support more equitable access to the critical resources and expertise that can help them overcome obstacles and reach their goals.”

Accelerating Growth for Latino Businesses

The program targets explicitly businesses poised to scale but may be stuck at around the $1 million revenue mark.

“Our mission is to grow the American economy by empowering Latino entrepreneurs nationally,” said Arturo Cazares, CEO of LBAN.
