IT services firm Arthur Grand Technologies has come under scrutiny for a job advertisement requesting only white candidates apply.
The company posted a job advertisement for a Business Analyst [Salesforce & Insurance Claims] on Indeed. However, the now-deleted advertisement included a note stating: “Only Born US Citizens [White] who are local within 60 miles from Dallas, TX [Don’t share with candidates]”.
The client was listed as IT services company HTC Global and Warren Buffet’s multinational conglomerate holding company Berkshire Hathaway.
The advertisement has since been deleted, and Arthur Grand Technologies has released a LinkedIn statement distancing itself from the incident.
“This job posting was neither authorized nor posted by Arthur Grand or its employees. A former employee took an existing posting and added discriminatory language, then reposted it through his own account. The moment this was brought to our attention, we worked with the job portal to remove this offensive job posting. Necessary legal action has been initiated against the job poster.”
“Arthur Grand is a minority-owned company that has been offering IT and staffing services since 2012 and we pride ourselves on the diversity of our staff and leadership.”
The job advertisement is especially concerning because Arthur Grand Technologies supplies government services. Moreover, Indeed’s hiring insights show that the job advertisement was reviewed by the employer after posting.
LinkedIn and Twitter users have also criticized the company’s unwillingness to provide further detail or invite questions:
“We are very clear on this update and to avoid further chaos we request not raise any of the assumption comments or questions further, the statement concludes. “Thanks for the understanding. Request everyone to support and cooperate.”
We have contacted Arthur Grand Technologies for a comment.
